Hello everyone. Let the record show that this is not the post I had planned for tonight. Due to some things happening, I had to be quick on my feet. So the best and easiest blog post I could think of was to take the time to introduce the new segment to the blog. The new section is called Courtney's Corner, it will deal with the person behind the screen. It is just simply about Courtney. I may discuss online topics that deal with IMVU and Second Life. That is not where I want to focus my attention. It will be about my real-life thoughts. I may talk about my past experiences in life, my future, and my mental health issues. The topics that I find intriguing or topics that you guys suggest. It is not limited to the computer screen.
Today's topic, however, is just simply an introduction. It's an introduction to the mind behind the blog, Courtney.
So Hi, my name is Courtney. I am currently 28 years old. My birthday is February 24th, 1994, which makes me a Pisces. I live in a decently sized city in Pennsylvania, the state I was born and raised. I am currently dating a man who has two young kids, both under the age of ten. So I am also learning to be a step-mom because the kids live with him full time. I have been active on IMVU since November 2014. I have been on Second Life on and off since about 2018. I recently made a new account today (September 11th, 2022). I hope that this is the account that will stay with me for a long time. I have been blogging off and on since 2012. I used to own a blog before this one called One of A Kind Reviews. It was a blog where I reviewed all things fashion, interior, and events, that were based around a game called Stardoll. At the time it closed, I had reached over 250,000 pageviews and won several awards. To help further explain who I am currently, I have about five questions I found on a prompt that I will be answering. If you want to check out the article where I got the questions click the link here.
What job would you be terrible at?
A. I believe anything fast food related. I was a Hostess at an Eat N Park. I had the worse time trying to memorize the sections. I do not do well with things that are fast-paced and chaotic. That is usually where fast food places end up.
2. What gets you fired up?
A. I would have to say this blog. I think it started after losing my job. I was able to hang out and learn to live again. However, once I found out that I could get a job during the day and that I could do all of the things that I love again. The blog was the first thing that came to my mind. It was the thing that made me happy. Everything I love to do on an everyday basis is what I need to do for the blog, so it brings my favorite things into one place.
3. What's the hardest lesson you've learned?
A. Not all of your family is your family. I know that might sound weird when you have it in that context. However, over the years I have had family ditch me for certain reasons, I have had family members choose unwisely certain people to keep in their life. I won't say who but a family member of mine actually chose my abusive ex-boyfriend over me. Even after all the proof was shown of their abuse among so much other stuff they decided to keep that person in their life. Are even still in contact with my ex even today. So I had to come to the realization that they are not someone who is beneficial to have in my life. I had to take a step back to do better for myself. To protect myself. I had to make the choice that my given family didn't have to be my chosen family.
4. What is something you will NEVER do again?
A. Go on a water slide that doesn't have an inner tube with it. I had a bad experience going down a waterslide when I was around seven years old (maybe younger) and I haven't been on one since. I have no plans on getting on another one again for as long as I live. Maybe one day I will share the story. Make a Courtney's Corner where I sit down and tell you some childhood stories. It is also a good way to learn about me and why I am like I am today. If that is something you guys are interested in of course.
Do you want a Courtney's Corner based around childhood stories?
Yes
No
5. What do you hope your last words will be?
A. I love you. I feel like that is the best last words you can tell someone.
I feel like this is a good way to end the post. It gives you a good bit of detail about me but is still short enough so that it doesn't take a very long time to read. I thank you guys for reading and just like I said before, if you have any ideas you think I should share in the next Courtney's Corner feel free to leave it in the comment section below. Also feel free to take the poll above.
Until Next Time...
