Hello everyone, October has arrived and with that Halloween is coming on quickly. Fall scents fill the air, while apple cider graces our glasses, and lines form eagerly for those special seasonal drinks. Tis the season for pumpkin spice! With Halloween fast approaching, I decided to share some costume ideas in this post. IMVU is a fantastic platform for finding incredible and creative costumes, and I'm excited about what this season has in store. While I'm not a huge fan of Halloween in real life, I enthusiastically participate in it on IMVU. I am always looking for a good costume to wear and a great party to attend. It is also when I do what i call Halloweek. It is basically an entire week in which I celebrate Halloween. I wear a new costume every day for seven days. I have only participated in it once, but I'm eager to bring it back this year. It is actually supposed to start next week. Which also means that there will not be a post next week. I want to focus on Halloweek and making it something worth continuing and in order to do that I really need to focus on it and what needs to be done. I will of course be doing a blog post on Halloweek the week after, so that is something to look forward to.
As always, before I begin a post like this, I like to include a little disclaimer. Just because an outfit or an item works on my avatar doesn't necessarily mean it will work for yours. It is important to try the item before making a purchase. Below, you will find links to each item I am showcasing today, along with the link to the creator who made the items. While I am not affiliated with most of the links below, I should mention that I work with the creator Sunni. I am a model for her, and everything below is purchased using my own credits. It is also worth mentioning that with IMVU+ being popular on IMVU nowadays, it is only fair to assume that some of the items in these costumes or the costumes themselves will be IMVU+ products. This basically means that the items will look different in the IMVU classic client than they would in the mobile/desktop app. Most of the time, the only notable difference is in color and shine. I will be adding an IMVU+ section to the information on the item list, indicating whether or not each item is an IMVU+ product. This will be marked with a 'yes' or 'no.' If it's a 'yes,' it is an IMVU+ product; if not, it will be marked as 'no.' Now, without further ado, let's begin with the first costume...
Cowgirl Barbie
It wouldn't be Halloween 2023 without a Barbie costume. Barbie was one of the major movie releases that took the world by storm this year. It was undoubtedly one of the most popular movies, so I can imagine there will be many Barbie costumes making their way onto the streets. While this outfit may not be the exact one that everyone wears, some version of Barbie is bound to be seen everywhere.
I find this outfit really cute. I wasn't expecting an ascot to be included, but honestly, I think it works. It's a very simple yet stylish costume. Although the hair isn't the exact match for Barbie's, I wanted to add my own touch to the costume, even if it was just a small one. As for the makeup and nails, those are my personal choices that I won't be sharing, but the hair and clothes are free for the taking. Below is a list of the items along with their respective sources. Princess Peach is a staple character since the appearance of Super Mario Bros in 1985. Fans went wild with the release of the new Super Mario movie this year, which offered a fresh perspective on beloved characters. Her new solo game, launched just last month, adds to the hype around her, making her a likely top pick for Halloween costumes. While this outfit offers a more seductive take on her original look, it retains her classic elements, from the crown to the wand.
It honestly took me forever to find a good Princess Peach costume that I could truly support on IMVU. I spent a good hour or two searching through the shop, trying to find one that fit her style while also working for me personally. I would have loved an outfit that was closer to her original look, but typically, costumes for women tend to be on the sexy spectrum, and her original outfit doesn't quite fit that narrative. When I stumbled upon this ensemble, I felt it was the perfect blend of her iconic appearance and an added touch of sex appeal.

Next up, we have a more hauntingly beautiful look, which I wouldn't necessarily call scary. It exudes an elegant and regal vibe, making it the perfect ensemble to rule Halloween in. With the ideal balance of grace and elegance, this outfit is truly fit for royalty. Even Lucifer himself would be compelled to bow down to you.
I stumbled upon this outfit while seeking inspiration for costumes, and I instantly knew I had to work with it. When I found the perfect avatar pose to complement it, it was as if Hell's Queen was claiming her throne. The extravagant nature of the ensemble is quite a departure from my usual style, but I found it intriguing. Halloween doesn't always have to be about being overtly sexy. For those who prefer a different approach, this outfit offers a refreshing change. Additionally, the dress is versatile and can be incorporated into various ensembles. It's worth noting that the items in this outfit are IMVU+ products. When worn on mobile or the IMVU Beta, the outfit appears as a lighter black shade with a shiny finish. Personally, I prefer the classic app's version over the other options, but that's just my personal preference.

Spider Queen
Ruling over Hell and its inhabitants not your cup of tea? Then consider taking on the role of the Spider Queen. This elegant and alluring look is bound to catch attention. The intricate mask serves to conceal your identity while leaving just enough skin on display. The exquisite collar adds an extra touch of sophistication to the ensemble and contributes to the air of mystery. It's a perfect example of sexy attire without revealing too much. The outfit creates an illusion that leaves those around you curious about the story you might be portraying. Are you someone with the power to command spiders? Can you transform into one? Or perhaps you're a black widow turned human, searching for your next victim. The possibilities for creating narratives are truly limitless.
Initially, the outfit was intended to include a long black cape and a grey web jumpsuit. However, when I tried it on, the ensemble didn't resonate with me. Although I adored the accessories, the main components of the outfit didn't quite fit my vision. That's when I set out on a search to find a suitable spider dress, and that's how I stumbled upon the one I'm wearing. It was originally designed as part of a witch outfit by a different creator, but I aimed to steer clear of the typical witch, vampire, and zombie ensembles. So, I repurposed the dress for this look. Frankly, it's my favorite outfit in this lookbook. If I hadn't already finalized my seven outfits for Halloweek, I would have certainly considered including this one. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if I arranged a photoshoot with this outfit in the near future. I might already have something in the works.
