Hello everyone, and welcome to the first blog of November 2023. As some of you may know, if you follow me on Instagram (@cocolekind), I completed Halloweek this year. This is the second year that I have attempted this, and honestly, I can imagine myself doing it again next year. I'm still in the process of learning, both in how I want to do this and how I want it to be presented. This year was a valuable learning experience, and, truthfully, I believe it turned out better than my first attempt. So, yay, I'm progressing, learning, and evolving.
For those of you who may not be familiar with what Halloweek is, let me explain it to you. During Halloweek, I essentially celebrate Halloween every day for seven days. The seventh day is, of course, the main event as it is Halloween day. I celebrate Halloween each day by wearing a new costume, making it my outfit for that day. I conduct photoshoots for each costume and share them on my Instagram as well as my IMVU feed. It is a lot of work, but honestly, it's so much fun and truly tests my creativity, something I always enjoy.
I am going to be talking about the outfit and then the room. Each outfit and its corresponding room where the photos were taken will be discussed in one major part but separated into minor sections. I will not be mentioning any makeup I used for the outfits. If that is something you are interested in discussing, let me know in the comment section below. Maybe I will do a seperate blog just for the makeup sometime in the future. The makeup for these costumes was well planned out and fun so it would be fun to share it all with you. If of course that is something you are interested in. The rest, if I can share, I will. Now, let's get going... we've got a lot to talk about.
Day One: Night Witch
Unfortunately, I couldn't resist trying out a couple of the classic Halloween options, and one of them was a witch. A timeless and staple Halloween costume, this witch outfit is something I honestly love. Yes, it's a bit more expensive than what I would normally spend on a costume; however, considering what you get in the outfit, it's honestly kind of worth it. The ensemble includes the dress, the cape, a book with actions, a necklace, and a special background addition where bats will fly out around you, accompanied by a moon in the background. Since I am absolutely horrible at describing it, I decided it would be easier for me to just show you...
Just so you are aware the globe I did mention where I got it from, however, the avatar (the reason the ball is moving) I did not include that. Anyway, as you can see it has special effects. The outfit also comes with effects that you can do with the book as well. Its a complete outfit and comes with bonus items that make it that much cooler.

Here is the room. I decorated this one myself, and I want to make it clear that it's the only one I decorated. The other six rooms were created by someone else. Since I decorated this one, I'll share the items I used to create the room. However, with the other rooms, I will not be disclosing that information. They are not my rooms to share, after all.
I aimed to keep it somewhat simple but still give it a little edge. The room is named 'Witches Night,' and for some reason, looking at it again, I get 'Witches House' vibes. Honestly, I don't know why. Anyway, I added some bones because I envisioned this as a space for an evil witch. Maybe it's the dark colors, maybe it's the way I did her makeup—I honestly don't know. I just get bad, evil witch vibes. Of course, that meant adding fog to make it spookier and sparkles to make the room more magical.

Day Two : Catwoman
I think I may have a thing for villains. I'm starting to notice that I have at least four villain costumes this year, with this one being one of them, and, of course, the witch. The other two I'll be discussing later. I guess the theme of this Halloween should have been 'Bad to the Bone.' Anyway, I've had this costume for a while, at least bits and pieces of it. I never actually got to use most of the items, so there's no better time than the present. When I saw the costume and all its original components, I knew I had to spice it up a bit, make it more of a Coco LeKind look and less of a one-stop-shop look. I used one creator for the jumpsuit, shoes, and gloves but opted for a different creator for the mask, tail, and whip. I honestly think the mask works so well with the outfit and is one of my favorites; it hides just enough. Of course, I love the jumpsuit, and who doesn't love a good tight leather jumpsuit? The body it gives my avatar is amazing. It's sexy, but most of my skin is covered.

When I thought of Catwoman, my mind naturally gravitated towards Batman. However, I didn't want to limit myself to a Batman-themed room. Instead, I contemplated Gotham City. The idea of a photoshoot with Catwoman perched on a rooftop overlooking the city or amidst a city environment appealed to me. After extensive searching, I stumbled upon this room. Upon exploring its offerings, I concluded that this chatroom embodied everything I envisioned. I got to work right away. I don't think I could have chosen a better room. I opted for the classic client to take these pictures because, in my opinion, it looked better that way. I highly recommend checking out this chatroom and showing it some love.
Day Three: Neon Skeleton
I absolutely love this outfit; it's so much fun. I don't usually go for skeleton looks, but when the skeleton is all neon and fun like this one, I can't help but show my support. It has a really nice cutesy/party vibe, which definitely aligns more with my style than the creepy and gross you usually get from a skeleton look. When I created the outfit, I kept that in mind. I wanted it to be cute, I wanted it to be fun, and most importantly, I wanted it to be me. I feel like this outfit captures that and more, and I can honestly say I am very proud of the look I styled.

Unfortunately, when I was looking for the chatroom to get a video of it, I could not find it anywhere. It seems that once the Halloween season was over, the chatroom was closed for the year. I am disappointed that I couldn't have spoken about it because it was a really fun room. Because the chatroom is closed and not able to be visited, I cannot, in good conscience, talk about it.
The room was visited on the desktop app because it gave a lighter feel. Additionally, the outfit itself was an IMVU+ Product, and it was one of the few moments where I liked it better on the desktop app than I did on the client app.
Day Four: Dragon Queen
Yay! I was patiently waiting for this outfit to come up on the list to talk about because it's honestly one of my favorite costumes I created this year. It definitely ranks in my top three, that's for certain. It all started when I saw that gorgeous dress. The moment I laid eyes on it, I got Dragon vibes, so I did some searching, and then I saw the horns and headpiece, and it was over for me. I had found my Dragon Queen outfit. The personal story behind this look is of a woman who is the queen of the dragons. She herself is a dragon with the power to transform into a human, a power she only uses when necessary, for whatever reasons. I feel like this outfit really tells a story. It is just absolutely perfect, and I really hope to find more reasons to wear this outfit in the future, whatever those reasons may be.
Unfortunately, as I was looking up the items I used to create this outfit, I found out that the shoes I used are no longer available for purchase. The shop has been closed, so sadly, I cannot share that information with you.

Does this room not scream fairy tales, magic, and mystery? When I was searching for a room, whether I bought it and decorated it myself or found it in a public chatroom, I wanted it to be whimsical, to have a storybook vibe. With this room, I got exactly what I wanted. I wasn't honestly sure if she was a villain or a hero; I just knew I wanted something that shows both sides. Her outfit gives off hero/light vibes, but the room where the photos were taken exudes dark/evil vibes. I love these photos, and the room is definitely one I plan to revisit again in the future. The room is called Your Story created by zRAINz. As before, you can find the chatroom by searching the chatroom name, searching the username, or simply clicking the name of the chatroom.
As this chat room is not my own, I won't be sharing the items used to create it. I would recommend visiting the room and checking it out for yourself; it's a really pretty room. I should mention that when I took the photos for this photoshoot, I used the desktop app instead of the original client. I felt the outfit and the entire chatroom just looked better. Day Five: Sexy Angel
Yes, I know. I did another basic Halloween costume. To be fair, though, this outfit is really cute, so I should get a free pass because I mean, it's adorable. The outfit is so sexy and, well, for a lack of a better word... angelic. It gives off a very innocent look. A sexy innocence that you don't find often with outfits these days. It's either sexy or it's innocent; it's rarely both. I really wanted to keep the accessories to a minimum because this is a rather delicate and simple costume. Too many accessories, and it would take over, becoming the star when the outfit and you yourself should always be the main event. As the saying goes, 'wear the clothes, don't let them wear you.' I chose some of my staple pieces that I tend to use a lot in my outfits, like the earrings/bracelet combo, the dainty barely-there choker, and amazing nails. Such a cute outfit, and I honestly believe the room I chose to take the photos in complements it so well.

I believe I have used this room in the past; however, there is a reason I keep going back to it—it is absolutely stunning. It gives off such an ethereal and heavenly vibe, which, when wearing an angel costume, goes so well with the overall ambiance. It's not overly decorated or anything; it is simplistic but stunning. I know I keep using that word, but I honestly can't think of any other way to describe it. The room is called 'angel rose' and is by the user HIISSY. Since I did not decorate the room myself, I won't be sharing the products that were used to create it. This is one of the few times that I preferred the original client over the desktop app.
Day Six: Beetle Babe
Beetlejuice... Beetlejuice... Beetle Babe?! I am by far better than Beetlejuice; I'm Beetle Babe, the sexy female version here to help you out to your heart's content. No ulterior motives necessary... as far as you will know, that is. This is the only outfit where I showed what avatar I used for it, and that's only because the avatar kinda helps make the outfit. The bowl of brains with the fork inside just enhances the demonic look that Beetlejuice has into more of a reality. I mean, what screams demon more than a skull bowl filled with brains for munching? This is not what I typically go for in a costume, but with the rise in popularity of the musical and talks about Beetlejuice 2 being in the works, how could I not? I found this outfit while scrolling. It was out of the box, and I felt like that is what this Halloweek needed. Fun fact: I saw the movie Beetlejuice recently for the first time. I had never watched it previously because I thought it was too scary. Little did I know it definitely wasn't, so I decided to finally watch it with my sister for the first time. I actually found the movie Coraline much scarier than anything, and yeah, I don't want to talk about that movie; it gave me the heebie-jeebies. I digress. I found the movie to be more silly than scary.
Anyway, this outfit is definitely a sexier costume. I love the tiny hat; it is absolutely my favorite part of the outfit. I also find the hair and nails to be rather cool. I'm not really a stripe person, but this color balance kinda works for me. I'm glad I went out of my comfort zone.

Day Seven: Mrs Freddy
Yay! We made it to the final day. We made it to Halloween. For this year, I decided my Halloween costume would be the female version of Freddy Krueger. Freddy and I have an interesting relationship. I didn't watch either 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' or 'Freddy vs. Jason' (I believe it was 'A Nightmare on Elm Street') until I was 18 years old. I know I watched one of them; I just don't exactly know which one it was. Anyway, I didn't like watching the movie because where I lived, it was 255 Elm Avenue, and Freddy lives in 255 Elm Street, so it was a little too close for comfort for me. Now that everyone has moved on from that house, I thought I would pay homage to it. I do like the outfit; I was surprised when I saw it, how much I actually enjoyed it. Honestly, it is very simple compared to my other costumes, but after all of those, I kind of needed that. The boots I typically wouldn't wear, and honestly, I won't touch them again after this unless, of course, it's to wear the costume again in the future; they are just simply too chunky and not a good color for my personal taste. They work great with this outfit, though, so points for that.

Here, we have the final chat room I will be talking about today. I'll start off by saying that I did not create this room; it's a public chatroom. It's called Halloween Street Party and is created by xoxoPattyxoxo. It's such a fun and spacious room, perfect not only for Halloween but for the fall season as a whole. There are so many things to do and countless opportunities for great pictures. I knew when it came to taking the photos, since it was a genderbent version of Freddy Krueger, it was only fair that I took the photos on a street. After countless searches, I found this room and instantly fell in love. It's definitely a room you'll want to check out.
